Q: I finally found a
chili recipe that's close to one that I used to have and am hoping to make it
either tonight or tomorrow morning but I have a question. This recipe calls for
a 16 oz. can of kidney beans and I'm wondering if the chili would be safe to
pressure can after it's made? Since the beans were already commercially
processed, it shouldn't cause an explosion,
right?
A: Yes, you can use commercially canned beans when canning
chili. I use pinto beans in chili sauce and kidney beans when I do mine. It
turns out great and is alot like Wendy's chili.
